Who Are We?
The Environmental Law Omnibus (ELO) is a community-centered environmental law website – pitched and designed to be accessible to both laypeople and legal professionals.
The ELO helps unpack the law, focusing on relevant aspects and their context within the Indian landscape. It makes navigating through the complex legal web of coastal and marine commons much easier.
It offers easy-to-understand modules on areas such as civil society action and engagement, protection of India’s coastal commons, and umbrella legal architectures on the protection of Indian commons.
ELO further tracks several key case-laws that have had a significant impact on environmental law and policy, with regard to coastal and marine commons.
ELO is backed by Dakshin Foundation. They are a non-profit, non-governmental organisation. Their mission is to inform and advocate conservation and natural resource management, while promoting and supporting sustainable livelihoods, social development and environmental justice.
